Ready to unlock your potential? Let's transform your life together.

Our treatment plans may include medication management, therapy, lifestyle recommendations, and support groups to address all aspects of your mental health.

  • Your initial visit will take approximately 50-75 minutes. During this time, we will discuss your medical history, including symptoms, previous treatments, and medications. Together, we will establish your goals and create a personalized treatment plan.

Once your first appointment is scheduled, we will send you new patient forms via email. Please complete and return these forms at least 48 hours before your appointment to ensure your provider has adequate time to review them. We may also request prior psychiatric records to be reviewed by your provider prior to your visit.

Follow-up visits will be shorter, typically lasting around 20-25 minutes.

  • Psychiatric conditions often have an underlying biological basis, and medications can play a crucial role in managing symptoms alongside therapy and alternative approaches. Our practice takes a conservative approach when prescribing controlled medications, such as benzodiazepines and stimulants. While we recognize the importance of these medications for some individuals, we prioritize using evidence-based research in our care.

For example, research has shown that long-term benzodiazepine use can lead to decreased cognitive abilities. Therefore, we strive to explore alternative treatments to ensure your long-term health is prioritized alongside managing your current symptoms.

Medication adjustments will only be made during scheduled appointments. If you experience side effects from a recently prescribed medication, please contact us promptly so we can address your concerns appropriately.

  • The Controlled Substance Utilization Review and Evaluation System (CURES), administered by the Medical Board of California, provides a database for providers to review an individualโ€™s controlled medication prescriptions over the past year. This system is designed to help prevent the abuse or misuse of medications such as benzodiazepines, opiates, and stimulants, and to enable safer and more effective prescribing practices.

As of October 2, 2018, California law mandates that all providers consult the CURES database within 24 hours before prescribing any controlled substance. We fully support this regulation as it aligns with our commitment to safe and ethical practice.

Reference: Health and Safety Code Section 11165.1

In compliance with the Ryan Haight Act, patients at Inspire Psychiatric who are prescribed a controlled substance, or may be prescribed one in the future, are required to have an in-person consultation at least once annually.

  • The most effective way to reach us is through email or messaging via the patient portal. We strive to respond within 24 hours. Our email system is secure and HIPAA compliant, ensuring your privacy and confidentiality.

We reserve appointment times specifically to discuss your treatment and any concerns you may have. By providing your phone number, you consent to being contacted by Inspire, including receiving SMS messages for follow-ups.

Please note that we do not take calls after hours or on weekends. You are welcome to leave a voicemail, and we will return your call during our next business day.

*By providing a telephone number, you consent to receive SMS text messages. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out of further messaging.

Please be aware that we are unable to address any emergent concerns through email, messaging, or phone. If you feel unsafe or are experiencing an emergency, call 911, go to your nearest Emergency Room, or contact a crisis line. Additional resources can be found on our Resource Page.

  • Research consistently shows that the combination of medication management and therapy yields the most effective results. Therefore, we integrate supportive therapy into our practice and collaborate closely with your therapist to ensure your care remains consistent throughout your treatment journey.

Many issues stem from a variety of causes that are best addressed holistically. Life disruptions can arise from a mix of biological, genetic, cultural, and spiritual factors, including stress and unhealthy coping mechanisms. We believe that the most effective treatment blends evidence-based practices with approaches tailored to your unique personality and core beliefs.
